Tried And Tested Tips To Choose The Right Wine For Your Wedding in OKC

Wine For Your Wedding

Planning a wedding sounds like a walk until you actually begin. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have come across people who run into wedding planning roadblocks. There’s no need to worry, though, because it can happen to the best of us. Sure, you can hire reliable event planners from Oklahoma City to take the load off you. But, wouldn’t you want to take care of some things all by yourself? I know I would.

If anything, I would at least want to choose the wedding wine. If you are on the same boat, consider yourself lucky because I will help you choose the right wine options. And yes, choosing the right wedding wine isn’t as straightforward as it seems. So please continue reading!

The Season Matters More Than You Think

It’s no secret how chaotic wedding planning can be. After all, you have to create a guest list, choose the right wedding venue, search for wedding officiants in OKC, etc. All of this can overwhelm anyone. But let me tell you that things do not have to be so messy. I am a firm believer in the power of planning ahead. You would be the same if you understood how much time and money it can save you.

For example, you don’t need to use a lot of brainpower to decide the right wine option for your wedding. I notice a lot of people leaving these decisions for last. And when the time comes to choose, they are out of ideas. Well, here’s an easy solution. Think of the season when you are having your wedding. If your event is in the winter season, consider choosing red wine. If it’s in the summer, I would advise choosing white wine.

Choose Something That Complements The Menu

You don’t need an expert to tell you that your choice of wine should complement the menu. I would recommend going for red or white wine if the main course is chicken. The reason I recommended these options is simple, as both are on the lighter side. That said, I would advise against choosing red and white wines if your wedding food includes seafood. Greek wines would be the more suitable option with that.

You might be thinking, “But why do I even need to put so much thought into choosing wines?” Well, the right choice of wine can make a whole lot of difference to your wedding event. Believe me, it’s true. When your guests enjoy their drinks, the entire event becomes memorable. I know it might seem like a small thing right now, but it makes a huge difference.

Too Much Is Rarely Enough When It Comes To Wines

If there is one thing that I would not want to run out of during my wedding, it’s wine. There, I said it. I would rather have a few crates leftover instead of my guests not getting enough wine on my big day. After speaking to some reliable wedding event planners from Tulsa, OK, three glasses per guest should be enough. But if you would rather have more, I won’t stop you. After all, what’s the worst that can happen? Having to take a few crates home? That’s a problem anyone would love to have!

There’s so much you can do with leftover wines, like gifting some to the wedding photographers. You could also stock some for your honeymoon. The options are endless!

The Simpler The Better

I often notice that people tend to go overboard with their wine choices, especially when it comes to weddings. Yes, I understand that it’s their big day, but I don’t think having extravagant choices is always the answer. Having been to multiple weddings over the years, I have come to the conclusion that light and refreshing wine is usually the better option for weddings. Sparkling, red, and white wine, as long as you serve them cold, would be fantastic.

And please, make sure you take special care of the temperature. I know I mentioned it earlier, but I can’t emphasize this enough. Believe me, serving warm or lukewarm will leave people with a bad taste in their mouth, literally and figuratively.

Plan For The Different Moments

You don’t have to think long and hard about the right time to serve wine at weddings. There is no right or wrong answer because everything is situational in most events. Some people prefer serving it during the after-party, while others prefer serving it during the toast or meal. If you ask me, though, my answer might surprise you. Why not serve it throughout the event? Yes, I understand it might be a bold take, but please hear me out.

You can give your guests a taste of different wine options by serving a different variety for each moment. We have the welcome drinks, the toast, the meal, and the post-wedding party. As long as you choose an option that suits the mood of the occasion, the guests will never complain about drinking.
